I haven't blogged in months. Not because I did not want to but because the past 7 months have gone by too quickly. My job is wonderful, I truly like what I do and hope to grow in the company. Between working late, weddings, bachlorette parties, bridal showers, setting up my new apartment, trying to keep up with friends, staying in touch with family, and spending time with my boyfriend life seems to move by very quickly. The excuse, "I'm busy" came too frequently out of my mouth when invited out for family and friend events on the weekends. How can you tell life to slow down when it keeps sweeping you up? that is something I definitely have had to learn. There is nothing more important than family, and when your family drives you crazy you really need those few good friends you refer to as family...
As I have gotten older I have developed this fear of loss. Growing up I did not understand how it is possible to lose people. I don't want that...and if it must happen I am going to soak up all the goodness, all the happiness spending time with my loved ones brings me. Because at the end of the day it is all I have, it is all I want...

The New Chapter in the Big City
Manhattan is the melting pot of the world. You meet different people anywhere you go in this city. Some people have this perspective that corporate america is this stuffy high and tight world where people dress up in suits and are very serious about their jobs. Well I am here to tell you that in some cases this is true. However, when I signed a contract for a job in corporate america I had no idea I would be entering a crayola box. Personalities are all over the place as well as fashion! Suits who? My supervisor is the most dressed with slacks and business tops paired with heels, pearl or diamond earrings and a can't miss engagement ring while others wear jeans and sneakers. I am liking what I do and who knew? My job has absolutely nothing to do with my degrees. The only relation: Being a people person and being able to relate and/or understand other personality types. Which are good skills to carry with you anywhere. The job has great perks! Whether its a health fair with free massages, fondu fountain with fruit, cookies and other treats, or appetizers with sangria to celebrate the signing on of four new accounts. I love getting random emails where I can just take a break from work and enjoy the perks!
Now, let's get out of the office. The shopping is endless! I am in walking distance from reasonably priced stores to high fashion designers!! I love shopping on my lunch break and going to happy hour after work. I've always seen Manhattan as my play ground and now here I am a working woman seeing a whole different side to the city. What can I say? I LOVE WORKING IN THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY!
